Question

When playing football most of us wear shorts.  What is the Shar'ee position?

Answer

It is Fardh for an adult male to cover his body from the navel to the knees (including the knees).  This is Fardh during Salah as well as out of Salah.  Therefore, it is haraam and sin to expose this area or part of it.
