Sadqa Tul Fitr

Sadqa Tul Fitr is an obligation upon every Muslim Male and Female upon whom Zakat is compulsory (Wajib), whether or not a year has passed.

Points regarding Sadqa Tul Fitr

q       It is Sunnah that the Sadqa Tul Fitr is paid before performing the Eid Salah. q       It can also be paid before the Eid day. q       If a person fails to pay it before its proper time, he/she should pay as soon as possible, whereby the obligation will stand discharged. q       It is compulsory upon each adult male and female separately, and each adult is individually responsible to pay it. q       The adults are responsible to pay the Sadqa tul Fitr on behalf of their minor children (immature). q       A father is not responsible to pay Sadqa tul Fitr on behalf of his adult (mature) children, wife or vice versa. (However he may do so on his own behalf) q       Sadqa Tul Fitr should be paid only to a person who is entitled to receive Zakat.
