Hazarat Anas (R.A.) relates that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said,

“ For a youth who respects and old man, because of his age, Allah appoints people who shall respect the young man in his old age.”

It was also the practice of the noble Prophet (Peace be upon him) that if a young member of a delegation began to speak, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) asked him to let the elders speak first.

This shows the great emphasise, laid by our noble Prophet (Peace be upon him) upon respect for elders.
