The rules of reciting The Holy Quraan

Ta-awuz:Tasmiyyah: 

1)    Before reciting, it is necassary to recite Ta-awuz. 2)    Before beginning any Surah (except Surah Tawbah) it is necessary to recite Tasmiyyah. 3)    If during recital the need arises to talk, even though it may be a single word, recite Ta-awuz before commencing the recitation of The Holy Quraan. 4)    If one wishes to start the recital of The Holy Quraan from the middle of a Surah, it is optional to recite Tasmiyyah.  However it is desirable to do so. 5)    Ta-awuz is exclusive to The Holy Quraan.  Do not recite Ta-wuz for any other literature.

NOTE:

Regarding the rules of Ta-awuz and Tasmiyyah, Surah Tawbah is an exception.  If one wishes to start their recitation of The Holy Quraan from Surah Tawbah recite Ta-awuz only.
